Withered Animatronic (2024)

The Withered Animatronics are the pre-rebuilt incarnations of the originals made for the previous Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location in 1985, prior falling into severe disrepair and being replaced by their newer counterpart for the grand reopening of the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 due to an attempted retrofit of the older animatronics that took place before they got scrapped for the newer models.

Physical Appearance[]

As stated in their name, the withered animatronics have a "withered" or decayed design. They are seemingly covered with a felt-like material, mimicking fur. They share the same design of endoskeleton, resulting in double-sets of teeth. After the event of The Missing incident, they had a particularly foul odor and what appeared to be "blood and mucus" around their eyes and mouths with the bodies of Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz and Cassidy inside their suit.

Functionality[]

The original animatronics' pre-rebuilt generations aren't left on a free-roaming mode at night. Instead, during their construction, the robots were never given a proper night mode, so, at night, when they don't hear noise, they think they're in the wrong room. They then try to find the nearest source of noise in an attempt to find a room with potential customers - in this case, the Office, where either Jeremy Fitzgerald or Fritz Smith reside, depending on the night. However, similar to the first game, upon sighting a person after-hours, the animatronics will assume the person is an endoskeleton without a suit on. Thus, they will attempt to forcefully stuff them into an animatronic suit, killing them in the process.

Animatronics[]

Freddy[]

Main article: Freddy

The older original incarnation of Freddy Fazbear and is slightly different from the Freddy from the first game; now he has two buttons on his belly, he was the main performer and face of the original 1985 Freddy's pizzeria. However, after the Missing Children Incident and during the re-opening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in November 1987, Withered Freddy was decommissioned and replaced by Toy Freddy.

As Withered Freddy, nothing much is known about his personality, however due to his behavior in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and the rest of the games he's in, it shows that he is aggressive and hostile towards his victims, similar to the other animatronics. Like the other withered animatronics, he seems to be quite intimidating.

Bonnie[]

Main article: Bonnie

The older original incarnation of Bonnie the Rabbit, bearing Bonnie's original color but he is missing his face, he was one of the performers at the original 1985 Freddy's pizzeria. However, after the Missing Children Incident and during the re-opening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in November 1987, Withered Bonnie was decommissioned and replaced by Toy Bonnie.

As Withered Bonnie in Ultimate Custom Night, he has a tendency to make face puns (in reference to the fact that his face is missing). In fact, he is strangely aware of the fact that he is damaged. His voice, in contrast to his classic counterpart, sounds much more damaged, as well as having an ominous buzzing in the background.

Chica[]

Main article: Chica

The older original incarnation of Chica the Chicken, noticeably different from the Chica in the first game: note the less-rounded frame, all-yellow legs and three toes. She was one of the performers at the original 1985 Freddy's pizzeria. However, after the Missing Children Incident and during the re-opening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in November 1987, Withered Chica was decommissioned and replaced by Toy Chica.

As Withered Chica, in Ultimate Custom Night, she seems to be a contemptuous survivor, feeling strangely aware of the fact that she is damaged. Her voice has a lot of ominous buzzing and fan-like noises in the background. One of her voice lines revealed that she was the first murdered victim from the Missing Children Incident.

Foxy[]

Main article: Foxy

The older original incarnation of Foxy the Pirate, more tattered than his FNaF 1's counterpart, he has one animatronic ear completely exposed and several tears showing his endoskeleton, he was one of the performers at the original 1985 Freddy's pizzeria. However, after the Missing Children Incident and during the re-opening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in November 1987, Withered Foxy was decommissioned and replaced by Mangle.

In his withered appearance, Foxy's personality is not directly shown. However, based on his mechanics in the second game, he's shown to be smarter than the other animatronics, being one of the only two capable of seeing through Jeremy or Fritz's Freddy Mask.

Golden Freddy[]

Main article: Golden Freddy

An older variant of the first game's Golden Freddy, and originally used alongside Fredbear, he is more tattered than his FNaF 1's counterpart, with a missing left ear, and a good deal of damage with loose wires and exposed parts. Also, similar to the other withered animatronics, he now has upper teeth, wires are coming out of his empty sockets and shoulders, and small bits of the suit are faded and ripped. His head also seems to be tilting to the left rather than to the right. He seems to have some blood on his suit.

He was one of the performers at the 1985 Freddy's pizzeria as well as Fredbear's Family Diner. However, after the Missing Children Incident in 1985 and during re-opening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in November 1987, Withered Golden Freddy was decommissioned.

• The prefix "withered" originated from FNaF World.
  • Prior to this, they were officially referred to by the names of their FNAF 1 appearances.
  • In the game files they were referred to as Old animatronics.
• Phone Guy states that the Withered Animatronics were going to be retrofitted with some of the newer technology, which is why all but Foxy can be tricked by the Freddy Mask.
