Virginia Football Transfer Portal Tracker: Updates, departures, offers and more (2024)

The Wahoos247.com headquarters for the transfer portal. Who is in? Who is leaving? Who are the targets?

Jacquie Franciulli

This will serve as the Wahoos247.com Transfer Portal Headquarters where we will track Virginia players transferring out, new portal offers and interesting names that pop up. See you on the other side.

Technically, players can enter the NCAA transfer portal at any time. But unless they do so within their sport's official "windows," they will have to sit out one season. College football has two windows: one following the regular season and one following spring practice. The fall portal window opens Dec. 3, one day after conference championship games. It will remain open for 30 days, closing at the end of the day on Jan. 2 2024.

A player can still remove their name from the portal and stay at their respective program - most players who enter the portal do not return to their previous school.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The most important note before considering who is leaving and who is coming, is how many stops does UVA even have open on the roster? There isn't an official number available on where Virginia stands, but based on what we know, Virginia is estimated to be at 84scholarships (this includes 2024 commitments and transfer commitments).

Position of need? Virginia will look to bolster the trenches on both side, while also looking at several positions for depth including wide receiver, linebacker, tight end and secondary.

To put it mildly, the Cavaliers staff are expected to be VERY active in the transfer portal adding players - which means expect a few departures as well.

This section will be updated as the scholarship number picture changes.
