Is there a way to find stats on the results of every first pitch he swung at over the course of the season?

I think if anyone has the right to swing at pitches they like it is tanks. The hits will come.

OK, Mr. over the tops here, I was just curious.
It’s Sunday morning, games don’t start for a few hours, I’m enjoying coffee and the birds chirping. Will be heading to church in a few. No need to be so projection critical this early in such a beautiful morning.

Here’s a stat: he hit a pretty important first pitch over the fence in left field last year in Omaha

Tommy swinging at first pitches on a regular basis is overly agressive and almost undisciplined.. He has been known for doing it his whole career here.

Nothing about Tommy's batting is the norm. He has an odd stance and he loves jumping on the first pitch. But you can't argue with three years of results. Tommy has hit many home runs from that stance on the first pitch and no one seems to be bothered when it works. Tommy went 2 for 5 yesterday and suddenly everyone wants to sh*te on him.

You want to criticize Tommy's plate approach?
Isn't he top 10 in the history of the NCAA in home runs? Didn't he lead the country in RBIs last year? Didn't he hit over .330 every single college season he had?
I'm really disappointed by the lack of clutch hits he's had this year but this is a reach on your part

Funny how everyone thinks you are trying to find stats to complain about first-pitch swinging when you could easily be trying to do the opposite.
I don't recall you being one of the frequent complainers about Tanks swinging at first pitches.
I'd be curious as well, I suspect it would not support either side of the first pitch argument.

Wade Boggs never swung at the first pitch, no matter how fat and middle of the plate.
Other hitters figure that the first pitch will be a Fast Ball Strike because the Pitcher wants to get ahead of the count.
I don't know which approach is better.

Btw it’s not necessarily never swing at the first pitch ever. One of the As Moneyball players (Scott Hatteberg maybe?) said his old team told him to swing at the first pitch more often because his BA swing on the first pitch was over .400. except his BA was high because he only swung at the first pitch when it was absolute mistake over the center of the plate.
