After the Crew allowed the New England Revolution to score a goal in the first 10 minutes Saturday, Columbus would respond with five unanswered to pick up a 5-1 victory.
Striker Cucho Hernandez started the scoring for Columbus at Gillette Stadium with his sixth goal in four matches. The following two goals from Max Arfsten and Diego Rossi in the first half were scored off assists from Hernandez.
The final two goals for the Crew came from their center backs in the second half.
Rudy Camacho registered his first Crew goal since arriving in Columbus in August of 2023 off a corner kick. And that was followed up less than 10 minutes later with a goal from Steven Moreira.
In their first meeting against New England this season, the Crew defeated former Columbus coach Caleb Porter, who took over in New England during the offseason.

(80') Steven Moreira extends Columbus Crew lead to 5-1
Another defender, this time Steven Moreira, puts a goal on the board for Columbus as the Crew take a 5-1 lead. Moreira scored off a cross from Diego Rossi right in front of New England's goal line. The ball first went off the foot of Revolution defender Dave Romney, but then Moreira tapped the ball in to be credited for the goal.
Following the goal, the Crew made three substitutions:
- Midfielder Derrick Jones for Darlington Nagbe
- Midfielder Yaw Yeboah for Max Arfsten
- Forward Alex Matan for Christian Ramirez
New England also made substitutions, forward Bobby Wood for Giacomo Vrioni and midfielder Andrew Farrell for Noel Buck.
(72') Columbus Crew take 4-1 lead, Rudy Camacho scores
For the first time in his career with Columbus, defender Rudy Camacho has scored, putting the Crew ahead 4-1 in the second half. Camacho's goal came off a corner kick from Diego Rossi, in which the defender sent a header shot straight into the back of New England's goal.
(69') New England substitutes Jack Panayotou for Emmanuel Boateng
After a long stoppage of play to evaluate Crew midfielder Max Arfsten for a concussion due to a rough hit in the back from Brandon Bye in New England's box, Revolution forward Emmanuel Boateng indicated he was feeling lower body pain and was quickly substituted out for Jack Panayotou. Boateng had New England's only goal of the match.
Arfsten was cleared to play following to concussion evaluation.

Ahead of a New England corner kick attempt, both the Revolution and Crew made changes to their lineups. For New England, midfielder Mark Anothony Kaye replaced Ian Harkes and defender Brandon Bye replaced Nick Lima. For Columbus, defender Yevhen Cheberko replaced Malte Amundsen
(45') Columbus Crew go into halftime ahead 3-1
The Crew were able score three unanswered goals following New England's goal early in the first half, giving Columbus a 3-1 lead going into the locker rooms. Cucho Hernandez scored his sixth goal in three matches with the Crew's first goal of the match.
Overall, the Crew took 14 shots, five on goal in the first half while New England took five shots, four on goal. Columbus controlled the possession battle in the first half with a 55.7% possession rate.
(45+2') Diego Rossi scores, Columbus Crew take 3-1 lead near halftime
Minutes following Max Arfsten's goal, forward Diego Rossi found the back of the net for Columbus to give the Crew a 3-1 lead. Following a cross from Christian Ramirez to Cucho Hernandez to the left side of New England's goal, Hernandez set a short pass to Rossi, crashing towards the center of the Revolution's goal area. Rossi tapped the ball in for the third Crew goal of the night.

Crew defender Malte Amundsen was given a yellow card for a foul against New England's Esmir Bajraktarevic. It is the first yellow card of the match.
(42') Columbus Crew take 2-1 lead behind Max Arfsten goal
Midfielder Max Arfsten gives Columbus a 2-1 lead in the first half with a goal.
After missing his first two shot attempts of the match, both off target, Arfsten launched his third attempt near the top of New England's box, once he worked his way around multiple Revolution defenders.
(17') Cucho Hernandez evens the match, Columbus Crew tied 1-1 vs New England Revolution
New England was unable to hold onto its lead for longer than 10 minutes, as striker Cucho Hernandez scored on a fast break, tying the match 1-1.
Hernandez grabbed the ball over the midfield mark on New England's side of the field off a pass from Christian Ramirez, and quickly moved towards its goal. Once inside the box, Hernandez took a shot from the left of the goal that would go past goalkeeper Alijaz Ivacic.
(9') New England Revolution take 1-0 lead vs Columbus Crew
Forward Emmanuel Boateng puts New England ahead early in the first half against the Crew. Boateng grabbed control of the ball near the top of the Crew's box and broke through Columbus' backline, putting him in a one-on-one situation with goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.
Schulte was out of the goal, near the top of the goal area when Boateng sent his shot over the Crew's goalkeeper, scoring and giving New England a 1-0 lead.

The last meeting between Columbus Crew and New England Revolution was last season on Oct. 4 at Gillette Stadium. The Crew defeated New England 2-1 behind goals from Diego Rossi and Malte Amundsen.
Injury update: Crew goalkeeper Evan Bush
Less than two weeks before being cleared to return to Columbus' lineup from a forearm injury, backup goalkeeper Evan Bush hit a setback and has had to restart his recovery.
Bush suffered a broken bone in his left forearm duringthe Crew's match against Real Salt Lake on April 13, which required surgery. Last Saturday, while training in preparation for his return, Bush broke a different bone in his arm, and it was determined he would need another surgery ten weeks removed from the first one, Bush confirmed via Instagram.
