Some others have sort of mentioned it, but I feel like this needs further explanation. If you plan a few days ahead of time, buy the avocados that feel like rocks, you'll get perfect avocados.With some patience, leaving such avocados on the counter will yield perfectly ripe avocados within a few days, without the dreaded thumb prints every doofus in the grocery store seems to leave on them.. Idk why people try and grope the avocados like they're Trump himself, but ugh...

Here’s a better method: Take avocados, scoop flesh into bowl, squeeze fresh lemon, season with salt, freshly ground black pepper, & red pepper flake. Add freshly chopped mint. Use fork to smash avocado. Toast bread. Add avocado mixture on top, sprinkle with good sheep’s milk feta, more mint, and olive oil.(1/2 a lemon for every avocado)Ps. Don’t put avocados in the fridge. Let them ripen on the counter- they are fruits!

I’ve been making Avocado toast for years and have a super simple recipe that is simply delicious!: slice a ripe Avo in half and spoon flesh into a bowl, add salt and cracked pepper and red chili flakes to taste and lightly mash with a fork keeping it chunky. Toast 2 slices sourdough bread, drizzle good olive oil over, cut a garlic clove in half and rub gently over the oiled toast. Spoon the avo mix onto the toast and enjoy!

Never realized that Avocado Toast is what I had back in the early 80's at the Irregardless Cafe in Raleigh, NC. Now I know how to recreate that wonderful sandwich. Don't think it was called Avocado Toast back then. Tip: If I need a hard avocado to soften fast, I wash it & nestle it among lemons, limes & oranges in a bowl. Works overnight.

Garlic powder is another good addition, but the best and little known secret, is to also sprinkle some Cumin over the avacado. Cumin really brings out the flavor of avacado.

Though I enjoy the chunkier texture, smashing the avocado on the toast tends to mess with the texture of the toast. Try mashing the avocado lightly in a bowl first, then spreading gently on the toast.Yes, you'll dirty up another dish, but the results are worth it.

We sprinkled ours with "Everything But the Bagel" seasoning, and actually liked it better than some of the fancier versions we've made. Which we also like, but this version was so easy and good.

My local grocery sells the small pieces leftover when they cut the smoked salmon. This on top of avocado toast is my favorite luxury.

An egg over easy or sunny side up on top with a bit of basil makes it a truly delicious an satisfying meal, even as a light dinner dish.

Put a few slices of freshly sliced tomato on the toast before adding the avocado. This makes a great vegan breakfast.

Costco’s avocados are always excellent & cheaper. Leave them on the counter until soft, then refrigerate

This is my family’s go to on busy days. The lemon brings everything together. I cut up spring mix, cilantro and mint plus add finely grated parmigiana. Wonderful!

I like to make my avocado toast with sourdough bread. I usually top it with fried eggs, large sliced tomatoes, and tajin seasoning. Although I tried this recipe and it was very tasty as well!

I just made this as written and it was simple and delicious. The citrus added an essential lemony tang.I used Sixteen Mill seeded sourdough bread which is gluten free. Just the right texture!

After I smash avocado onto the toast, I sprinkle a light layer of Everything Seasoning then very heavy layer of my Seed Mix: flax, millet, chia, sesame and sunflower. The seasoning adds salt, pepper, garlic. No oil needed.

This is one of my favorite breakfast recipes, and so versatile! If I want to mix things up, sometimes I’ll sub pancakes for the hearty toast and whipped topping for the avocado. I’ve never been a huge fan of EVOO before wine hour; I like to top this dish with some nice imitation maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar is a great stand-in for salt and pepper, in a pinch (no pun intended). Bon appetit!

I have many, many dietary restrictions due to a health condition (IC). This is the first sandwich I have eaten in 3 years! I had to leave out all the acidic ingredients but added some queso fresco on top. With basil, pepitas, and cilantro it was delicious!! P.S. ripen avocados by putting in brown bag with a banana peel. Do not refrigerate.

I added some sliced cherry tomatoes along with poached eggs - really nice ensemble. Red pepper flakes for a little spiciness.
